Accountants for owner-managed and growing businesses, based across Oxfordshire and Essex. Founded in 2024 with one goal: be the accountant business owners actually want.

Most accountancy firms scale by hiring more people and putting the partner further from the client. We took a different route.

The Firm


SD Accountancy Ltd was founded in January 2024. The starting principle was simple: business owners deserve an accountant who knows their business, picks up the phone, and gives advice in plain English.


That's not how most accountancy firms work today. Most have grown into call-centre operations where you sign up with a partner and then deal with a rotating cast of juniors. The relationship gets diluted as the firm gets bigger. The advice that mattered when you signed up gets harder to access.


We work the other way round. You meet your accountant. You stay with your accountant. The relationship is the work.

Meet The Team

SD Accountancy is a small team. We work mostly remotely, with in-person meetings by arrangement at either of our addresses in Oxfordshire or Essex, or at your place if it suits you better.

Samuel Dallimore

Founder. ACCA qualified. Xero certified.

I started SD Accountancy because I felt there was a better way to support business owners. From my experience working in practice, I’d seen that accountancy can sometimes become too transactional, with clients receiving accounts and tax figures but not always getting the explanation, communication or ongoing support they need.


I wanted to build a firm that did things differently, one based on trust, relationships and genuinely becoming part of a client’s business journey.


My approach is simple: clear advice, honest conversations, and being available when clients need support, not just at year end.


For me, good accountancy is about more than compliance — it’s about helping business owners feel confident, informed and in control of their finances.

Practice Manager

I joined SD Accountancy Ltd because of its modern, relationship-led approach to accountancy and its genuine commitment to supporting owner-managed businesses beyond year-end compliance.


The firm’s approachable and commercial mindset really resonated with me, as I strongly believe in building trusted relationships and providing practical support that helps businesses grow and succeed.


Having lived in Bicester for the past 15 years, it’s especially rewarding to be part of a firm that supports businesses within the local community and builds lasting relationships with its clients.



As Practice Manager, I oversee the day-to-day running of the practice, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly for both our team and our clients. I manage client relationships, coordinate accounts and compliance processes, support the team, and work closely with clients to provide a proactive, responsive and friendly service tailored to their business needs.

Payroll and Bookkeeping

I support SD Accountancy by looking after payroll and bookkeeping services for a number of our clients.


I help ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, while also assisting businesses in keeping their bookkeeping records organised and up to date.


My role is focused on providing reliable day-to-day financial support, helping clients stay on top of their records and giving them confidence that the essentials are being handled properly.


As part of the SD Accountancy team, I take pride in delivering a friendly and approachable service.

How the team works

When you sign up, Samuel handles your books, your tax, your meetings, and your annual accounts. Samantha, our Practice Manager, keeps the wider relationship moving and makes sure everything runs smoothly between meetings.


It’s not a help desk and it’s not a rotating cast of juniors. It’s the same accountant, working for you, year after year.

Direct relationship

You meet the person doing your accounts. You always speak to them. There's no help desk, no rotating juniors, no bouncing between staff who don't know your business.

Transparent pricing

We agree the scope of work upfront and put a clear proposal in writing before we start. No one-size-fits-all packages, and nothing changes without a conversation first.

In-person where it matters

Most work happens by video and email, but we have addresses in Oxfordshire and Essex and meet in person by arrangement when something big lands or when it’s easier face-to-face. We come to you if it suits you better.

Thurrock (Essex)

Unit 64, Thames Industrial Park, Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, Essex, RM18 8RH

Covering south Essex and the wider Thames Estuary area. Includes Thurrock, Grays, Tilbury, South Ockendon, Stanford-le-Hope, Basildon, and surrounding towns.

Who We Work With


We work with owner-managed and growing businesses, with particular focus on three sectors: construction and trades, professional services, and growing SMEs. We also work with businesses in many other sectors.


Most of our clients are limited companies turning over £50k to £5m, with one to twenty-five employees. We also work with sole traders, partnerships, and landlord limited companies.
